The Riverside Campus: Studying at Griffith's Music Conservatorium

You couldn't ask for a better location for a university: situated on Brisbane's renowned South Bank park lands, which are filled with restaurants and cafes, bars, shops, and boast the popular man-made Kodak Beach, Queensland Conservatorium of Griffth University stis in the perfect spot.

The Conservatorium caters specifically for music students, those wishing to develop their skills to a professional level and to take advantage of the brilliant facilities available to them at this institution.

Here you will find both performers and composers of Jazz, Classical, Popular, and World music, as well as the Music Technology students – the music producers and sound engineers.

The campus itself consists of one three-story building, and this building houses the impressive conservatorium theatre, a dedicated music library for students and staff, the modern and well equipped recording studios, and a cafe at the lower entrance with seating both in and outside the building.

With a clear view of the city across the river, and a peaceful grass area stretching across the entrance, this is the perfect place to sit down and relax in your spare time.

In applying to study at the Conservatorium, it is important to demonstrate your musical abilities in both practice and in theory. The theory test is the only element compulsory for all students, and this is a brief written test.

Composition students are required to additionally submit a portfolio of some of their works, performance students complete an audition, and Music Technology students hand in a portfolio of recordings they have been involved in.

For international students it is important to have good English skills and to undertake an English proficiency test, and to have successfully graduated in the final year of high school.

Once successful in your application, you can look forward to having an enjoyable and rewarding experience at one of the most prestigious music institutions of Australia.
